Roger Danilo Leiva

Roger Danilo Leiva, 75, passed away August 2. He was born on 7/29/1940 in Quito, Ecuador to George and Consuelo (Yanez) Leiva. On 7/27/1979, he married Arelis Diaz in Union City, NJ. Roger worked in the textile and fashion industries in NYC since 1968, creating outer wear for various designers. He retired in 2002. Roger was a longtime resident of West New York, NJ and Newburgh, NY. Roger was a parishioner of St. Joseph's of the Palisades. In his spare time, he enjoyed long walks, reading, travel and visiting his children. Roger was predeceased by his step son, US Army SSgt. Cristian Gonzalez (2013). Surviving are his spouse Arelis Leiva, children Consuelo, Aimee, Lucy and Stephanie, loving sister Ligia Leiva-Navas, grandson Xavier Ventura and many nieces and nephews. Private funeral and burial will take place in his beloved place of birth.
