Dear Michelle and Roger's loved one's. I had the honour of working with Roger while he was at FNIHB. His humour and deep sense of what was right continually impressed me. I am just stunned to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences on your loss. May his memory be a blessing and a comfort.

Roger was involved in my hire at Health Canada. And for that he'll have my everlasting gratitude. I still remember his wise counsel, hopefulness and sense of humor. Qualities he had in endless supply. And on display those many years ago to counteract a nervous, hesitant and reluctant First Nation chap on the phone. Luckily, for those fortunate to have known him, there will be no future without him. Without the memory and influence of Roger: Of his character...of at least one of his generous spirits. Au revoir, Roger.

I was deeply saddened and devastated to hear of Roger's death. He was truly one of a kind. Intelligent, witty and an amazing sense of humour. Underneath that though, you sensed an innate kindness & compassion. It was that, I believe, that drew people too him and relish in the time they had in his presence. His loss will truly be felt by his wonderful family, his friends, his colleagues & the public service has lost one of its truly great minds, a true inspiration and great public servant.

Roger you will be missed. You made some of the toughest moments working in BC Tripartite lighter with that witty sense of humour of yours! Thoughts and prayers to all your family.

My deepest sympathies. Roger you will be missed. The last time we spoke was over a coffee in Bridgehead. You were cursing at a laptop and making a witty remark and that's how I will always remember you. Your FNIHB colleague.

We all loved Roger.
How lucky we all were to have shared professional and personal moments with him. Witty, intelligent and a really nice, down to earth guy - definitely one of those people who would pop up in your mind when they are not around and a pleasure when they are.
Thank you, Roger. You were extraordinary.

Thanks, Roger, for streaking through my life when you did. We had some great hours and laughs together -- though too few to be sure. I loved your family and watching our kids grow up on the playground at AC. See you on the other side, brother.

I'm fortunate to have had Roger as a mentor at work and am so thankful for his friendship. Roger always brought wisdom, kindness, intelligence and classic Neufeld dry humour to every conversation. He will be missed tremendously by the many people whose lives he made better. To all of Roger's family and loved ones - my thoughts and sympathies are with you during this difficult time.

To Michelle and Roger's family,
Roger will be greatly missed and I'm fortunate to have worked with him. In addition to being rock solid and someone you could rely on at any point in the day when urgencies arose, the best part was he did it with such kindness - he genuinely always wanted to help and would go out of his way to do so.
Emily and Jacob were also much loved by Roger, evidenced by conversations we had about our children from time to time, or when we reached out to each other to exchange family vacation ideas. He really loved his kids and I know he has left a legacy of inspiration for us all.
My deepest sympathies and condolences.

To Michelle and Roger's family: I read of Roger's death with great sadness. As a colleague, Roger was super smart, giving, conscientious, but with a rich sense of humour and a wisdom tinged with humility. A rare human being. I am so very sorry for your loss.

To those closest to Roger - Michelle, Emily, Jake and Gloria - I am so very very sorry for your loss. I adored Roger, my partner in crime in outrageous story telling for almost 25 years. He was the funniest, most true-hearted, most self-effacing intellectual with the worst taste in bourbon to have blessed us all. And you were the very core of his being. My deepest condolences to you all.

Dear Michelle and family, Roger was a wonderful, wonderful human being. Kind, smart, funny and the finest kind of colleague. Those of us who worked with him were very lucky public servants. He put his heart into the work he took on and made an amazing contribution to public policy in what he accomplished and the way he accomplished it. I remember him also as a great mentor to new and younger staff but in fact all of us learned so much from working with him. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Michelle, I was so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. While I didn't know him all that well, the times that I spent with him, either in meetings, or when we ran into one another in the hallways, he struck me as funny, smart, and so full of life.
I hope that you can find peace in knowing how well respected he was, and what a positive difference he made in many people's lives. Thinking of you, his kids, and all his and your loved ones.
With sincere sympathy, Bonnie and Dave

To Michelle and to Roger's family. There is very little that anyone can say to comfort you in your loss, but I do hope the positive and happy remembrances will help. Like many others, I delighted in Roger's company, and was always so pleased when he happened to drift by my office and could be persuaded to come in for a chat and a few laughs. I met him on almost my first day on the job at FNIHB, liked him at once, and only grew to like him more and more as the years rolled by. What a terrible loss for us all. Shelagh Jane Woods

Michelle, sometimes it is hard to find understanding in the Creator's plan; the pain we feel in watching our loved ones fade away from this disease will ebb with time and I pray you find solice in believing we will see our loved ones some day and that the pain will be replaced with gratitude for having had the gift of Rogers' love, sharing and caring.
