Roger dedicated much of his life to serving the country, first in the Army as a Hercules Missile Crewman stationed in Korea and then for 25 years as an active duty member of the Maryland Army National Guard retiring as the Operations Sergeant in the 1-175th Infantry, 29th Infantry Division (Light) in 1995. He was a great cousin, he taught me to build scale models and we spent a lot of time at the local slot car track.

Roger and I met more than 50 years ago while I was a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol and he was our unit's Vehicle Maintenance Officer. I learned a lot from him about automotive repair and upkeep.

Margaret - Denise and I have valued the friendship between our families for all these years. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

“Top” set the standard for dedication and duty. He was responsible for me serving on Active Guard status. He acted in the “troops” best interest by deflecting all the bull so that we could train and perform. He could repair and fabricate equipment and write computer programs. He was a jack of all trades and modern day renaissance man. Only the best memories. My sympathies to Margaret, Alan, Gwen, and their families.

Roger, we came a long way together. We were Civil Air Patrol cadets together; we worked together in the exhibits business, and we were in the Maryland Army National Guard together. Rest In Peace My Friend,

What a sad shock to hear about Roger´s passing. I have such happy memories of him when I was a kid. He was the best n most fun cousin. He loved his motorcycle and serving his country. He will live on in my heart. Thoughts and prayers to Margaret and family.
