Roger Salter Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2025.
Roger Lee Salter, affectionately known as Dad and Pop Pop, passed away on November 20, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 70.

Born on August 22, 1954, in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, Roger was the son of Rosemarie and Alton Salter. He grew up surrounded by family and community in Emmaus, where his early years laid the foundation for a life centered around love, dedication, and connection.

Roger's life was deeply rooted in family. He shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Cindy Salter. Together they raised a loving family that includes their daughters Brooke Barker and Whitney Evans; their son Tyler Salter; and daughter-in-law Cassie Salter. Roger was a proud grandfather to Peyton, Andrew, Caden, Jensen, and Ronon-each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His sister Kathy DeBellis and her husband Charles, nephew Christopher Deemer, and niece Nicole Deemer. His brother Dennis Salter and his wife Dorothy of New Hampshire. All of whom held a special place in his heart

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Rose Marie Salter and father Alton Salter, as well as his close uncles Martin, Jacob, Anthony Gartner, and several other uncles, aunts, cousins.

Roger found great fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for gardening that reflected his nurturing spirit-tending to plants with the same care he gave to those around him. Cooking was another of his joys; he often brought people together over meals prepared with love. A fan of golf, Roger enjoyed time on the course as both a pastime and a way to connect with friends.

To those who knew him best, Roger will be remembered for the warmth he brought into every room and the steadfast presence he offered throughout his life. Whether known as Dad or Pop Pop, he leaves behind cherished memories that will live on through generations.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and love him.
