Roger has done a lot of classic songs that touched the hearts of so many people. After he passed away it was his "Last Farewell", and he entered Heaven's gates the next day to find "A New World In The Morning"

To his family, what a gifted singer Roger was. My mom introduced his music to my young daughter and myself in early 80s. Unique quality to his voice that caught my ears! You Are Beautiful was our favorite.
Thank you for sharing your talent with the world and you live on through . RIP

His musical voice became very sentimental and very talented that Roger Whittaker will always be remembered as a devoted global artist and his music will live on forever. Thank you for the memories and you will always be in our hearts forever.

I know I'm late. I went through my grandmothers records a couple years ago and came across one of Rogers records. I'll admit, I kind of laughed and thought it was kind of funny stuff at first, but something made me come back to that record a few months later and I started listening to Durham Town and his other works and I really did fall in love. Believe it or not, I was cooking up a French dish when I was singing his cover of The Lion Sleeps Tonight, when I found out about his passing. I know Roger Whittaker touched many peoples lives, in his many years of singing. I hope you know he touched a young 20 somethings heart as well before his passing. I will share his music with my children and grandchildren. I will do my part to make sure the great Roger Whittaker lives on. God bless you all.

I used to set with my dad at the kitchen table, playing games and listening to Roger Whitaker. I was 6 then, that was many many many years ago. I still love and listen to his music, and think of my father, who has passed, and the memories me and daddy and Roger shared. I didn't know he had passed. Thank you Mr Whitaker, for your beautiful voice and music. Always Kristy sensabaugh

My Dad passed away recently & loved him . His favourite song was Streets of London. We had this played at his funeral. My son got married two months later & was saddened his Grandpa never made it but as a tribute my son requested I danced with him. When the song came on, it was Streets of London. So sad but a truly beautiful tribute to my Dad .
May you rest in peace x

I was so mesmerized with Roger Whittakers music in my younger days, and still am. Having an executive husband and 4 sons, his music always soothed the savage breast, they say. Thank you Roger, especially Wind Beneath my Wings...RIP and sympathy to his loving family

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. My Parents had all of his 78 rpm records and I grew up listening to Roger's records all times of the days and night!!! I would sing along with him laying "under my covers." My Mom played his records at all times of the day or night and would "sing along" with the record(s). His records were a great part of my upbringing11

I GOT TO MEET ROGER WHITTAKER AT BBC RADIO MERSEYSIDE BACK IN SEPTEMBER 1992 WHEN RADIO MERSEYSIDE PRESENTER BILLY BUTLER HAD HIM AS A GUEST AND WHAT A LOVELY MAN, ROGER THAT IS. WAS RATHER HOPING TO MEET HIM AGAIN BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT WON'T HAPPEN. I HAD ALL HIS MUSIC IN RECORD, CASSETTE AND CD FORMAT AND SIGNED PHOTOS OF HIM. THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD HAS LOST A TRUE GENTLEMAN AND A LEGEND.

A friend of a friend, Charles Stewart and I went to a used record store in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1986 or so and he was determined to get some Roger Whittaker albums, which he did. I knew of Roger from TV ads but had never listened to his work. It was a awesome experience... The Last Farewell, Durham Town, his version of Kilgary Mountain (Juice of the body, indeed!), Whistling songs!... and Charles favorite, The one they call the foe... not the title but that's what he called it... Been a fan ever since, countless times in the car or at home... Never got to see him live though. Thanks Charles and Thank You Roger!

I met Roger, by chance, at Sears in Edmonton, AB. He was so unassuming but a warm and delightful man. I was thrilled to meet him as he was and still is one of my favourite singers. Loved to hear him whistle. The picture showing of him here definitely shows the essence of the lovely man he was. Such a loss for his family but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

His voice was pitch perfect and the way he sang was pure joy. His humor was always on display and I´ll be getting some of his music out to enjoy again. I was sad to see he has passed because I know there will never be another like him. Rest in Peace sir, you´ve earned it.

Heard about a 'ship that lies waiting in the harbor' and was hooked for life. I'm thankful that we 'shared' a lifetime. Your music could make me cry and feel good about it. How goofy is that. Your presence has blessed my life and your spirit and your songs, live on. And I am tankful.

If Mr. Whittaker had done nothing else but "The Last Farewell," that would still have been enough for the rest of us to always be grateful to him.

I am a big fan of easy listening music, though most of it I prefer to be instrumental. Roger Whittaker's vocal songs belonged on my Easy Listening playlists and tapes, too, though, namely long time favorites "The Last Farewell" and "Durham Town". Those can be listened to over and over again for years before they finally start to wear down. "The Last Farewell" was mystical and reminded me of Disney's Pocahontas & John Smith, though it was a favorite long before that movie came out.

Condolences to Roger Whittaker's family. I was privileged to see him perform at the Star Theater in Merrillville, IN over 10 years ago and it was one of the most memorable concert experiences. A great and unique performer!
