Dear Zola Mae, Eddie, Bobby, Billy, George and Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of Roger and our families during our "growing up days" in Gary and all the wonderful places those days took us. One memory in particular takes me to Boissevain, Va. where Roger preached at the Pentecostal Holiness Church pastored by Max Thomposon. Max gave Roger a dollar and Roger taped it inside his Bible. Roger always had a great sense of humor. I'm very proud to hear of what he did with his life. He served in God's Army admirably and is now receiving his Reward. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and may God Richly Bless You with His wonderful Love.

Sarah and Roger, I am very sorry to hear about your dad. I remember him when I was a young girl, growing up in Meadowview. I came to church on the Holiness Hill most of my young life and that is who I remember most(Jean and Roger). They both loved the Lord and I no both of them are with him now looking down upon us. Stay strong in the Lord and one day we will all see them again. God Bless both of you.

Dear Yuhasz Family,

We were so sorry to learn of Roger's death when reading the paper this morning. Don & I remember Roger from days spent at the Youth Camp of the VA Conference of the PH church when we were teens. We respected his Christian witness. Then we were so blessed when Don's first pastoral assignment was to Gary, WV and we met Zola. It was at that time we knew where Roger received his Christian training. Zola was so dedicated to the Gary church and meant so much to us as we were finding our way through our first pastorate. We reconnected with Roger at that time and Don worked for many years with Roger and Jean in the Bible Quiz program. Roger was dedicated to God, Family, and Church.
We're praying you'll know the tender comfort of God and the caring love of family and friends through this time.
"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." John 14:18 KJV

I HAVE KNOWN ROGER FOR MANY YEARS THROUGH MY WORK AT SMYTH COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES. I REMEMBER HIM AS THE ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL, AND AS A GOOD FRIEND. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU DURING THIS TIME.

I knew and worked with Roger at the Western Regional Office for the Virginia Department of Social Services for many years. There are two things that I remember most about him. The first is how he championed the clients we served and the second is how very much he loved his family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Roger, Sarah & family, We were so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Your Dad was a family friend in his teen years & had visited in my parent's home many times when my Dad , Max Thompson, was pastoring the Boissevain & Bluewell P.H. churches. He was also one of our first visitors when my husband, Jim, & I got married & moved to Salem, Va. Our paths last crossed a few years ago while attending our church conference in Dublin, Va. Your Dad was always a very special friend & I still remember some of his silly jokes. Our thoughts & prayers are with you guys
