When we joined LVC, we came from a Catholic upbringing where the "passing of the peace" usually involved greeting the people directly in front of, behind, and beside you with a quick handshake. So we were in for a surprise at Limona, where people leave their rows and go all around greeting with hugs and handshakes. We pretty much stayed with handshakes, but we learned to roam farther than our seats. After we'd been at Limona for a year and a half, my Dad passed away. I am a daddy's girl, and it was a terrible time. For reasons I can only contribute to amazing compassion and kindness, Chip decided he was going to start making sure I got a dad hug. Every week he made his way to me, wrapped me in a back breaking squeeze, and said he loved me. Because of Chip, I got a nearly 16 year extension on dad hugs. I wish I had been able to see him again before he passed, but I know that nothing could have been better than my last experience with him, a big hug and an I love you exchange.

Chip always had a smile on his face and was an awesome guy. He helped us out repairing the Stafford beach house and I will always remember those special times working together. He was the one in charge as Kevin always said because he carried the "pencil". Loved this man, he was a great friend to our entire family.

It is with such sadness I write about our friend Chip. My first meeting of Chip was in the lounge at Russell C´s dorm at the University of Delaware- he was hanging out with a friend of mine from home. I was impressed by his nice manners and good looks. I saw him around campus a few more times but did not really get to know him until later. He was recruited to work for Perdue Farms , along with my husband (boyfriend at the time) in Salisbury,Md. where they became roommates. This was not to last for very long, as Uncle Sam came calling for Chip to join the Army. He served his time there and returned to Salisbury- this time with a wife and a new baby girl! The four of us became quick friends - we celebrated marriages , babies, growing children, and many fun times together! We had the opportunity to visit Chip and Cheryll in several different places where they lived. Most recently, our visits to Florida became a ritual - we always got together whether for a night or two or just a dinner to catch up! We enjoyed their company- always something exciting to share! Chip was one of the most caring, kind, and humble men I´ve ever known - these characteristics are shown in his children now. We shared his devotion to his faith - I´m sure he received his " well done faithful servant". Our sincere sympathy goes out to Cheryll , Ryan ,Heather, and the rest of his family. Rest well, our dear friend until we meet again. Prayers to all.

So very sorry for your loss! I met Chip at Crystal Beach, when I was a teen, and spent a lot of time with he and Bob during the summers there. He was always a gentleman and a great guy! My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
