Roland Jefferson Obituary
He was a graduate of Southern University and completed graduate work at the University of Southern Mississippi. A U.S. Army veteran who honorably served his country, Roland went on to use his time and talents as an employee at Ethyl Corporation. He enjoyed spending time on the family farm in Mississippi and could often be found hunting and fishing.
He inherited the gift of words from his loving mother and used words to help create meaning in the world around him and was an expert at capturing ideas and turning thoughts into delightful stories. He had a deep trust in the Lord and found great pleasure in bringing joy to others. He was very good at giving profound insight into even the not so funny moments of life. Entertainment was Roland's love language and his gentle nature touched the lives of all those around him. He was preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind several uncles, cousins and friends that will miss him greatly. "We had him but we lost him, but we were so lucky to have had him."

This is Edna (Tutti) Jefferson, Roland had me to video him in the field beside the house in the summertime dancing, my hair lost all the curls, he just laughed, I was a little upset but that was my Roland I loved him.

My name is Serilla Ward I started off as Mr Rolland´s DSW then became his Field Manager at Island Home Care. I loved his jokes and his great sense of humor. His laugh brightened up my day even when I was at my lowest. My heart dropped when I heard the news because in this field you become family. I love you and will Miss you Mr Roland. And remember it´s show time. I know the heavens has the best comedian in the world now. I give my condolences on behalf of myself and Island Home Care.

Roland helped me and my children in my younger years and before my children were born, he was my best friend and cousin for life, I will miss him greatly.
