Roland "Rollie" Rein Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 25, 2024.
Roland "Rollie" Rein, 91, of Stoughton Wisconsin passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 22, 2024, in the home he was born in. Rollie was born on March 5, 1933, to Wilmer and Norma (Moe) Rein. He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1951 where he was a two-sport athlete.

On July 30, 1955, Rollie married the "love of his life," Janice Gretebeck. Together they farmed the Rein family farm and raised their four children in the town of Pleasant Springs. Rollie loved the animals and farming; it was his passion and where he felt most comfortable. An award-winning farmer, he aptly handled the challenges farming presented.

He is survived by his children: Rhonda (Bruce) LaZotte, Andy (Susy) Rein, Monica (Jeff) Morgan, and Kelly (Bob) Boyd; eight grandchildren: Kate (Chuck) Langfeldt, Kyle (Chayse) LaZotte, Jenna (Kit) Zipf, Brady (Hannah) Rein, Gillian (Laron) Cooke, Kelcie Morgan, Shaun Boyd, and Jessica (Kenny) Anderson; and 11 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Elsa Bronte and brother Gunder (Bernice) Rein.

Rollie was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his sisters and brothers-in-law Marilyn (Thorlife) Midthun, Eileen (Elmer) Brekken, and brother-in-law Lennie Bronte.

The family extends a special thank you to Agrace Hospice and to Rollie's daughters: Rhonda, Monica and Kelly and granddaughter Jessica Anderson for their daily end of life care.

In keeping with Rollie's wishes, a private service will be held for immediate family at a later date. Online condolences may be made at: www.ryanfuneralservices.com. In remembrance of Rollie, memorials may be made to Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
