Former owner of Martin Tire Shop, retired Fire Chief of Vankleek Hill Fire Dept
Suddenly at his home on Saturday, December 24, 2016, Rolly Martin of Vankleek Hill passed away at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 68 years to Dora (née Sauvé). Predeceased by his parents Olivier Martin and Aurore Lalonde. Proud and loving father of Carmen Paquette (Réjean), Denis (Margaret), Gilles (June), Nicole McIntyre (Dean), Pierre (Carol Willems) and Michel (Diane). Predeceased by his son André. Dearly loved grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Isidore, Roger (Lorraine) and Madeleine Jeaurond (Georges). Predeceased by his brothers Bernard, Wilfrid, Lucien and Rhéal and his sister Juliette Lalonde. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to the CCAC for their wonderful care and personal service. Relatives and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. A Mass of Christian Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St-Grégoire-de- Nazianze, 137 Higginson Street, Vankleek Hill. Spring interment St-Grégoire Cemetery, Vankleek Hill. In memoriam donations to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Stroke Rehab Program 20260 County Road 43, Alexandria, Ontario K0C 1A0 would be appreciated.
