Ron Clark, 65, of Eyota, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, of injuries received in a motorcycle accident near Peterson.
Ron was born April 6, 1953, in Rochester to George and Esther (Graskamp) Clark. He graduated from Dover-Eyota High School in 1971. In high school, Ron was active in football, wrestling, track, FFA and 4-H. He had worked for Lakeside Packing, AMPI, Ralston Purina and IBM, before graduating from Rochester Vo-Tech in 1990 with a degree in electronics. Ron then began a career with IBM, Hitachi and Western Digital as a computer disc tester.
He was handy and mechanically inclined, able to fix anything and enjoyed overhauling old farm equipment. He loved to putz and cut wood. Ron was known for being quiet, hard working and frugal. He was a natural runner, having run several marathons with little conditioning.
Survivors include his brother, Rick (Zoe) of Rochester; sister, Robin (Bill) Harps of Yucaipa, Calif.; nine nieces and nephews, Amanda, Doron, Tyrel and Logan Clark, Chad and Eric Clark, Will, Rebecca and Ross Harps; and two aunts, Elaine Gommels and Marilyn Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther, and two brothers, Ross and Randy.
Services to Celebrate Ron's life will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, with the Rev. Mark Woodward of Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A reception will be served following the 5 p.m. service.
