Ron Steblea II Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 5, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Daniel Steblea II. Born in Indiana in 1966, Ron suffered a heart attack on May 28, 2025 in the Philippines where he had recently relocated.

Surviving are his wife Jennifer (nee Bueno) and her son Jiro, his son Ace Steblea, his mother Marcia Casey (nee Tharpe), his sister Tracy Lindell (nee Steblea), and her husband Rob Lindell, niece Chelsea Lindell and nephew Chase Lindell, his brother Jeffrey Steblea and his wife Ingrid (nee Proescher), nephew Luke Steblea and niece Echo Steblea. Ron was pre-deceased by his father Ronald Daniel Steblea and his stepfather Maurice Joseph Casey Jr.

Ron graduated from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT. He was salutatorian of his class and a captain of the golf team. Furthering his education at the University of Connecticut at Storrs, he received both his BA and MA degrees in English. He served as President of Zeta Psi fraternity during his undergraduate years. As a dedicated alum of UConn, Ron established the Steblea Family Scholarship supporting undergraduate English majors, many of whom have benefited from his generosity. Ron then entered a Doctor of Philosophy Study Program, Irish Literature, at New York University.

With a long career in marketing, Ron had become a leader in the industry. He was President of All Star Marketing Company in NY for several years, had established his own company, and was Executive Vice President, E-Commerce of Cannella Media in LA. He lived and worked in Cebu City, Philippines, where he recently became President of Evo Tech Software Solutions Inc.

Family First is how Ron lived his life, and he valued his many friendships across the world. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, and friend, always making the time to travel and organize trips and reunions to keep the connections strong. Ron brought his love of life to every occasion with his sense of humor, good nature, and caring attitude.

Ron's interest in sports was well known to anyone he knew. He seized every opportunity to play a round of golf at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT. He held season tickets to UConn basketball and football games and the New York City FC, and was a devoted fan of Liverpool FC. From his youth on, Ron was a fan of the Philadelphia sports teams and the Minnesota Vikings. Ron followed his sports teams passionately and could quote stats and trivia about all of them. He always had time to take friends and family to the games and was delighted when someone shared his interest in sports.

In honor of Ron's spirit of helping others, donations may be made in his memory to the Steblea Family Scholarship Fund at the University of Connecticut Foundation.

Gifts may be made online at foundation.uconn.edu. or checks may be made payable to the UConn Foundation Inc.

So sad to hear about Ron. He was a great friend since we met at zeta psi at uconn. Great sense of humor and we shared a love for baseball and music. We went to alot of phillies and red sox games over the years and alot of morrissey & rem concerts. My wife , son and I stayed with him in California in 2023 and had a great visit. They also adored ron.
Along with a great sense of humor, he had a sense of adventure, was caring and was always fun to be around, With his move to California and then to the Phillipines , i did not see him as often but enjoyed texting and always figured we would get together again at some point and looked forward to it. Saddens me greatly that he is only in my memories and i will not see my friend again. Sad for his mom , ace and Jeff & tracy. When we were in California with him he was excited that his mom was coming to visit him not long after we left and he was so happy about jennifer and jiro and at that point he wanted to relocate to the Philippines.... Which he did. He was smart and fun loving and will be very missed. Carl

I met Ron in 2011 while starting a business with a friend. What I never expected was that Ron would become such a dear friend. When we first met, I had to bring my 10-year-old daughter with me-and Ron welcomed her with open arms. From that moment, I knew he would be much more than just a business associate.

You will be deeply missed, my friend. But the impact you made on all of us will never be forgotten.

So sorry to hear of this. Ron and I became friends after meeting in home room at Ponus when he moved to CT. We lost touch sometime after college but have found memories off the many great times we had together.

From all of us at Cannella Media, we are so sorry for your loss. I have added the internal email we sent.

Frank, Bill and I received some devastating news this morning. We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend, former client, and longtime member and champion of the Cannella family, Ron Steblea, has passed away from a heart attack.

For those who knew Ron, you know what a truly special person he was. Ron had an infectious energy-always smiling, always filled with wild trivia and sharp insights, and always bringing a unique sense of humor and joy to every room he entered. His knowledge and passion for sports, particularly his alma mater, UConn, is of course known by all. He will always have an entry in our sports betting pools. He was a brilliant marketer, a hard worker, a generous collaborator, and above all, a genuinely good human being.

Ron had recently entered a new and happy chapter in his life. He was newly married and enjoying life in the Philippines, where he had found peace, laughter, and love. It makes this loss even more difficult, knowing how much joy he had found and how many dreams he was just beginning to live out.

Over the years, Ron taught us more than just marketing strategies or business tactics. He showed us how to lead with kindness, how to keep learning no matter your age, and how to never take yourself too seriously. He brought levity into even the most intense projects and always made time to connect on a human level. His legacy will live on in the many people he mentored, partnered with, and inspired along the way.

Ron will be deeply missed-not only by those of us who worked closely with him, but by the broader Cannella community, and by many across the industry who were lucky enough to know him.

Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, his friends, and all those grieving this loss. May we all carry forward a little of Ron´s spirit-his humor, his passion, and his generosity-in the work we do and the lives we lead.

Please keep him and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers

Marcia, Tracy, Jeff, Ace
I am so sorry for your loss. What can one say about a friendship that has lasted most of a lifetime. I loved hanging out with him watching sports, talking about sports, and playing golf. We were together watching no hitters after a round of golf. We were together watching OJs bronco ride interrupting the nba championship game after playing golf. He got me interested in college basketball watching the huskies. He was one of my favorite people in this world and I will miss my friend.

I have so many great memories and thoughts about Ron, I almost don´t know where to begin. News of his passing hit me hard. We shared many good times together in Connecticut, Los Angeles and in Palm Springs. We played golf and tennis and attended sporting events together over the years. Ron was there for me when my wife Donna passed away and I was there for Ron in Los Angeles when Kathy moved back to the Philippines. I always enjoyed his company, and looked forward to our next opportunity to get together. My heart goes out to his family and all those who knew him and loved him. Ron was a true gentleman, a competitor in sports and business, and an intellectual. He loved to discuss and debate almost any subject. He was highly educated, well read, and possesed of a brilliant mind. Friends like Ron don´t grow on trees. I will miss him terribly. May his memory be a blessing.

Dearest Marcia, Jennifer, Jiro, Ace, Tracy, Jeff and every one who loved Ron as a son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. How well I remember meeting Ron for the first time years ago in CT and thinking what a handsome and charming man he was. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I do not know why wonderful young people with so much to live for are taken away so soon. With sincere condolences. Sue Casey
