Ronald Anderson Obituary

Ronald G. Anderson

Ronald G. Anderson passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of seventy-seven, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Winona; children, Ronald, Stephanie, and Cassandra; grandchildren, Kaylie, Tavin, Sofia, Sydney, and Anderson; and sister, Bonnie. Ron was predeceased by his son, Derek.

Ron accomplished many goals in his life, and never gave up despite a debilitating disease that affected his mobility for over twenty years. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering, held management positions with AT&T and Buckeye Telesystem, and owned and managed an electronics business. He enjoyed a variety of adventurous activities, including flying his own plane, riding motorcycles and boating. Ron had a great sense of humor and so enjoyed joking and laughing with family and friends. He dearly loved and was loved by his family who saw him as a real fighter. He battled a neurodegenerative disease (SCA 1) far longer than its life expectancy. He will be so very missed.

Please send donations to Hospice of Ohio in the name of Ronald G. Anderson.

We ran through the night in sweaty white T-shirts climbing poles, jumping fences, resting in train tressles as trains burst by, lying in sunken graves at mid-night, river rafts, camp fires and tents under the stars and ew la la There was always something on the other side, never a dull moment. Craig. We miss you - God bless you

Many descriptive words come to mind when thinking of my father. Honesty, intelligence, courageousness and honorability are among them. If I needed to choose one to best describe my dad, it would be admirable. In all ways, he was admirable. He remained ever strong for his family when he had little physical strength left. To him, every day was a new opportunity to learn something, or share some of his vast knowledge with others. He would do anything for his children and grandchildren. Robbed of so many abilities by the neuro-degenerative disease, SCA type 1, his family was his greatest, and in many ways, his only joy. He was adventurous in his youth, and remained so for as long as he possibly could. Dad loved life, and truly lived it. He took nothing for granted. My dad was the kind of person I want to be. I will honor him by remembering the things he taught me. By staying true to myself. By using my gifts in which he took such pride. By always doing what is right, even when it's hard. My father was the most admirable person I've ever met, and I can think of nothing more encompassing than that. Hope you're having the best chili dog and milkshake in the universe. I love you, Daddy. -ZuZu

I have such fond memories of Ron growing up. Summers in Toledo, seeing Video Tech where Stephanie worked over the summer. Ron was always the cool dad, telling us to go out and have fun, driving us around the streets of Toledo including the bus stop! Do you remember that Steph? Such an adventurous night, won't go into too many details here... I remember Ron talking Betty into letting us drive her brand new Ford Mustang GT 5.0 up to Grand Bend. He even helped us tie all of our luggage down so we could drive with the top down to Canada. Never mind that we had to pull over on the side of the highway to cut all the strings as it started raining! When I think of my high school days, I smile. I had the best of friends and we had the best time always. Especially in Stephanie's white Firebird with T-tops. We had so much fun in that car and we owe those memories to Ron and his generosity. Ron was always smiling and was always so genuinely happy to see us having fun. My heart goes out to my dear friend Stephanie at this very sad time. Ron was such a kind man and he will be so missed. Stephanie, you were an amazing daughter to him and he adored you. I love seeing that photo with his grand kids, I'll bet he was so proud of them all and of you. You looked after him so well, really supporting him and guiding him through SCA1 and you absolutely helped him live longer than his diagnosis. You are an amazing mother, wife, friend and daughter. I love you and sending you and your family the biggest of hugs and all my love.
