I am Dr. Charles Levin, a longtime colleague of Ron Brown at the Canadian Institute of Psychoanalysis. Ron was a great friend of my father, Douglas Levin, who died in 1984. Over the years, Ron had an important influence on me as an analyst and human being.

As Director of the Canadian Institute of Psychoanalysis (Quebec English Branch), I would like to offer the sincere condolences of the Institute and all our members to you, the members of Dr. Brown's family. His contributions to psychoanalysis are legendary across Canada. Among these contributions, Ron presented many memorable scientific papers. The Canadian Journal of Psychoanalysis will be publishing one of these papers, 'Little Hans," in the next issue, which will appear this June. We will send a copy to you as soon as it appears.

I am a colleague of Ron Brown who trained with him as a psychiatry resident at McGill. Ron and I worked at the Jewish General and played basketball at the "Y". He was a very forthright and principled physician, dedicated to psychoanalysis and teaching, and a greater listener.
