Big life lesson don't drink and drive

I new Tom, Ron's father. A while back my son, Larry, was relaying a story to me about a really good guy, Ron Carver, he had occasion to refer work to and be referred work from. I asked if he was related to Tom and Judy. Larry said those were Ron's his parents. He went on to tell me what a really terrific guy he was. I wasn't surprised he was such a good guy. Today (a month after the incident) my son stopped by so upset. I watched as tears welled up and fell from my 6'7' son's eyes as he told me the story. He too had just found out about Ron's devastating passing. We feel so helpless and wish we had some words of comfort for Ron's family. Please know that he was thought of as one of the "good guys" in this life and he will long be remembered by those who had occasion to know him, work with him or be helped by him. Tom, his dad, was one of the good guys too. I am sure he was there at the gate to meet Ron and they are both looking out for their family now.

It is so hard to beleive that this has happened and Ron are gone. My deapest sympathy to all of Ron's family. My prayers will always be with you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know Ron personally but one Sunday I was in my classic bug broken down on the freeway. He stopped and said he loved old VWs and asked if he could look in the back, that maybe he could get me going. He did, and it turned out he even knew my V-Dub mechanic, which is how I learned Ron's name. What a genuine good guy, may he rest in peace.

One of the things I will always remember about Ronnie was the license plate frame on his Jeep....it was very simple, and stated "Eternity....Smoking or Non?" The world was a better place with you here, and it will always be a challenge to not be sad because you are gone, but to be glad you were here. May the Lord shine upon your family, and I hope to see you again someday at His side my friend.

Carver you will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rest in peace Carver

Mr. Carver towed my Beetle in December and we had a great conversation about his love of VW's. So sorry to hear of his tragic passing. He was a good guy.
