Ronald J. Corn 1928 - 2023 Springfield Ronald J. Corn, 94, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 2, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Philip A. Corn and Helen Napolin Corn, his brother Dr. Robert Corn and his sister Janice Arstark. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Later Corn. He is survived by his wife, Irene Stetson Corn and his three children, Richard Corn and his wife Dr. Janis Fox, Alexandra Corn, and Victoria Corn. He is also survived by his grandchildren Micaela, Aaron and Jared Corn, Ellery, Jason and Zachary Kreelof and Sophie Jackson, who all called him "Pop Corn", his sister Constance Permut, and by many nieces and nephews. Ron was born and grew up in Floral Park, Long Island, NY. He graduated from Syracuse University and the US Navy's Officer Candidate School and served as a Lieutenant JG aboard the USS Hooper Island during the Korean War. When he left the Navy, he received a letter of commendation from his Commanding Officer. He was an Industrial Design Engineer with Raytheon and then United Technologies. He was the Owner and President of M&R Packing Co. in Hartford, CT and also had a plant in Walterboro, South Carolina. After retiring, he had a craft business (Artofex), made, and sold jewelry, and other items such as purses, beach cover-ups and sweaters. He loved talking with people. He was a wonderful gardener, growing vegetables and beautiful flowers. He planted shrubs so that when one finished blossoming, another would flower. He really had a green thumb. In his younger days, he jogged, swam, and played tennis and golf. A funeral services will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451 or to Foundation Fighting Blindness, P.O. It's unfortunate how out of touch we all are (only just learning of this from a facebook post), but still saddened to lose a cousin and sad for all of you. We send our love and condolences.

Ron and I had many fun times, traveling together, playing tennis and spending good times with him and Irene. He was always interested and interesting!
