Ronald Lee Faass Sr.

Ronald Lee Faass, Sr. was born at home in Lynnville, IN. The house where he was born is now in the Historic Christian Freund Home Registrar. The house was used as an underground railroad during the Civil War. The slaves were brought by wagon from Newburgh to the house and were held in a secret cellar overnight and then taken to Oakland City.

Ronald attended Boonville high school and left school to join the US Navy in 1953. He served four years during the Korean Conflict.

After the military he served his apprenticeship as a machinist with H & L Associates in Princeton NJ. He then worked with Hercules Power Company and Union Camp Paper as a research machinist. He moved to Evansville, IN where he worked for Whirlpool Ordinance and then Alcoa Aluminum Company in the Warrick County Operations. He retired after 25 years in 1994 and moved to Vero Beach FL. He has worked in the Citrus Industry as security and for First Financial as a courier in Florida. He was an elder at Cornerstone Christian Church in Vero Beach. He spent his last days at the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, FL with outstanding care.

He is survived by his wife Nina of 45 years; his Son Ronald L Faass Jr of Lancaster CA and three daughters Stacy L. Jurgensen of Dania Point, CA, Andrea Theriac of Evansville, IN and Lana J. Sadowski of Suffolk, VA; 12 grandchildren Cheryl, Christy, Mark, Colin, Abigail, Noah, Alyssa, David, Terra, Crystal, Tristan and Steven and 2 great-granddaughters Kelsey and MacKenzie. He is also survived by his brother Larry and sister-in-law Sunny Faass of Boonville, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Faass and sister Sharon Feldmeier, Mitchell.
