Ron and I were close friends years ago. He was a very special person. I pray peace and comfort for his children and all who cared for him.

My deepest sympathy. I was fortunate enough to be in a class that Ron taught. I could have taken it over and over. He was so entertaining and humorous. The time would fly. I was lucky enough to win a piece of his woodwork. God Bless! Bobbie Patton

While attending Duquesne University enrolled in a health sciences program I needed an elective. I had the ability to enroll in Cmdr Freeman's forensic class that filled up on the first day of registration.
I honestly took the class because of the talk among students how entertaining his class was. I never imagined it would change my whole career move. His class was not only entertaining, his desire for the profession was so overwhelming I was sold immediately. I changed my major and took every class Cmdr. Freeman taught.
I spoke with him about entering the field and he encouraged me to join the military in order to earn veterans preference and I did that as well. I'm sure he never knew he was a major influence on me and probably many others! He was a top cop for sure and an unbelievable role model for myself and many others in law enforcement!

My condolences to the entire Freeman family. I had the pleasure of working with Ron for several years at the Investigations Branch. When the IB was at Gateway View Plaza on West Carson my office was across the hall from his and believe me, there was never a dull moment. His practical jokes were legendary as were his successes with major crime investigations. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Respectfully,
Michael Brown
