Ronald Gulutzan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2009.
Ronald Mandary Gulutzan May 8, 1945 October 2, 2009 With sadness we announce the passing of our dad and grandpa, age 64 at St. Paul's Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents, Josephine and John. He is survived by his children Fabian (Tina Ross) and Vanessa (Pat) Hamilton and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, McKenzie and Josh. Dad was born in Tisdale, SK. He grew up in Porcupine Plain. As a boy he was skilled at gymnastics. As a teen he took pride in his cars. Dad married mom (Norma Neufeld) and raised us in Porcupine Plain. Dad took over Grandpa John's pool hall and barber shop. In 1981, the family moved to Milden, SK. and bought the town hotel. Dad and Mom parted ways and Dad settled in Saskatoon. He worked at Service Master until his health started to decline. Over the years, dad had fun with many friends skidooing, curling, billiards, fishing and camping. We have fond childhood memories spending summers at Greenwater Lake. His love of cars continued into adulthood. Dad and Fabian spent many hours fixing up oldies such as the Plythmoth and his Mayrath tractor. He enjoyed gardening and making traditional dishes such as head cheese and perogies. Dad was a good natured person and had a sense of humor. He enjoyed a good laugh. We would like to thank Bill Chmil for his support over the years, mom and friends at Harry Landa Court for caring for dad and the doctors, nurses and staff at St Paul's Hospital PCU for their compassion. A celebration of his life will take place at Westwood Funeral Chapel (1402 20th Street West) on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Condolences may be sent to [email protected]. Arrangements are entrusted to WESTWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 653-3434.

Growing up right next door in the trailer court, I have many fond memories of time spent with the Gulutzan's. I remember Ron as always being such a friendly and kind hearted guy.
My sympathies go out to Fabian, Vanessa and families.

Fab/Tina, Vanessa/Pat and Familly, Norma.
The Warner family is also very sad, our families spent a lot of time together in years past. Greenwater, trailer park, pool hall, G&G Gulutzan's. I think Ronnie was the first man I knew that could cook! He was a good man and he'll certainly be remembered and missed.

Dear Fabian, Vanessa & Families,
It was a shock to see the news in the paper this morning. Even though being out of contact these past years, I remember fondly the memories of Ron's warm, cheerful spirit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.
