Ronald HAMILTON Obituary
Passed away on February 23rd, 2013 in his 68th year. Cherished husband of Judith Courrier. Loving father to Benjamin and loving stepfather to Heather (Michael Pickett). Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Winnifred (nee Ronald) and his son Nicholas. He will be greatly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Andrea, John, Sandra, Walter; his nephews Geoffrey (Marisa), Nicholas (Nora), Timothy, Mitchell; and his cousins Sheila, Louis, Pat; and Karen, Kerry, Kelly, Tracey, Terry, Casey. We will all miss Ron's quick wit, ready smile and steady manner. Ron loved his canine companion Roxane and she misses his hugs and their early morning walks.
Ron practiced General Dentistry in Ottawa for 42 years. He took care of the dental needs of several generations of family members and built many wonderful long term relationships. His plan to retire at the age of 70 was cut short in October 2011. A heartfelt thank you to his many patients who took the time to send him hand written notes. Their sentiments helped him through some difficult days.
The family also wishes to express our appreciation to Wendy and Cecilia, Ron's long time staff members and to our neighbours in Ottawa and Bennett Lake for their kindness and support.
Thank you to the following wonderful people who participated in Ron's medical care and well-being: Christine Ritchie, Dr. Paul Hacker and the loving staff at Riverpark Place Retirement Residence; Christina from CCAC; the staff at Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital; Dr. C. Canil, Dr. L. Eapen, Jennifer Lair, Cathy Comerford and the staff at the Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre in Ottawa; Dr. Trachtenburg and the staff and volunteers at The Prostate Centre at The Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto; and Dr. Lloyd Rossman, Ron's long time family physician.

To the Family of Dr Hamilton.
So sorry to hear of Dr Hamilton's passing away. I only heard about it today. Dr Hamilton was our family dentist for two generations until my children moved away from Ottawa. He was our first dentist when I immigrated to Canada, and at the time he was a young dentist just starting his practice. Over the years we had many chats about children and sometimes about cooking. I will miss his smile. Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of this wonderful man.

I only just heard about Ron's death and am really sad. I first met him as a customer for my picture framing business in the 1980s and immediately took a liking to him. He was a fine person who was also a caring, competent and considerate dentist. I miss our talks about high performance cars!

So sorry to hear of Dr. Hamilton's passing. I was his very first dental hygienist in 1976. I had just graduated and it was my first dental hygiene job.I enjoyed working with Dr. Hamilton very much and learned a lot from him. I worked with him until 1981 when we moved away from Ottawa. I still remember the very kind note he wrote me. I was oregnant with my first child when we moved away and Dr. Hamilton also gave me an antique wooden cradle which I used for all 3 of my boys. I still have it and have recently used it again for my first grandson. I have often thought of Dr. Hamilton over the years. He was a kind man. Sorry for your loss.

My sincere sympathies to your family. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ron since 1979 when he first opened his dental practice at Park Place. Ron was one of the initial Directors of the Board and a Past President of our Park Place Condominium. His dedication and hard work in that respect were very much appreciated. Ron was such a gentleman and my heart goes out to his family in this sad time.
