So shocked to learn of cousin Ron´s recent passing. Darlene and I wish the entire Heist family peace, comfort, courage, and send lots of love to you all at this time of great sorrow.
Ron´s engaging personality and unique story-telling abilities always brought levity and happiness to any room, for young and old alike. I for one certainly have some fond and traumatic (in a good way) memories.
I´m very certain that he was a big hit heaven´s waiting room, but also know that he wasn´t waiting there for long! I´m sure that my Dad, along with all other departed family members, will love having him closer now for more frequent conversations!

Love, Chuck & Darlene Varljen

I only ever met Ronald once and spent the afternoon with him. A true joy of a man and an experience I will never forget. Touring his home was extra challenging as I was freshly recovered from achilles tendon surgery! He will be dearly missed. May God comfort all of you in your time of need!

I have Ron to thank for discovering that I'm extremely claustrophobic. I got stuck crawling through the maze he built in the basement and he had to rescue me and his sister Cathy when I totally freaked out. Rest in peace, Ron. My deepest sympathy to the Heist family. He truly was one of a kind. He's probably already redesigning his mansion and heating it with lightbulbs!

My condolences to his family. I didn't know him other than seeing him on American Pickers. He must have been a real card to be around. I'm sure he will be missed.

Every time I drove by his place on Route 422 I smiled and fondly remembered the boat trips down the creek way back in the late 1970´s. Rest in Peace and thanks for the memories.
