Ronald Love Obituary
He was born on March 7, 1944 and attended East Peoria High School and Western Illinois University. He was also a student of the world, and his travels spanned from all over Europe, the Galapagos Islands, Haiti, and Tanzania, where he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Ron was a talented carpenter, painter, and adventure lover - racing cars, skydiving, running marathons, camping out amongst bears in Colorado, and more. He was a true thrill-seeker with an unmatched zest for life.
In addition to seeking a thrill, Ron was a servant to others. He could often be found handing out gloves to cold strangers in the winter, school supplies to children in the fall, and dog biscuits to furry friends any time of year. Ron would help out a friend in a heartbeat, and was always willing to lend a hand. He had a generous spirit and huge, compassionate heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Riley Love, and grandchildren Elias & Mila Naff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse & Ida Cathryn Love, brothers Allan, Robert, and Eugene, and son, Ryan.
To honor Ron's memory, we are holding a celebration of his life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Bradley Park Pavillion from 12-3pm. No obituary could possibly capture all of the adventures, hijinx, and generosity of this man, so we invite anyone who knew him to attend, hopefully with a fantastic "Ron" story or two, and remember his unique & wonderful life.

Ron was a good friend through our teen years. We had great times! I think of him often.

We’ll miss you Ron. Thinking of all the miles we rode together on our bikes back in the 80’s. Races in Channahon, IL (where you won a trophy) and Janesville, WI. Of course the annual Russelltonian in Washington was our favorite. Those were great times. My condolences to all Ron’s family and friends. R.I.P. my friend.

Ron was a kindred spirit. We had many of the same interests. He'll definitely will be missed. I'm fortunate to have known him and had the opportunity to say goodbye in person on Wednesday. Bye Ron! See you in heaven!
