Ronald L Macomber

Ronald Macomber, 67, of 295 Frenchtown Road, East Greenwich, RI passed away on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. He was the husband of Alice Durand for the past 10 years, previously having been married to Karen (Galoski) Macomber. Ron was born in Providence, RI, a son of the late Roland and Celia (Shoen) Macomber.

Ron was a retired 21-year veteran of the Warwick Fire Department and part of their ice-diving SCUBA team. He was also a well-respected quahogger and fisherman, earning him his beloved nickname "Ronnie Mud". His love of the ocean and diving led to many sea adventures, both above and below the surface, during his lifetime. A true hard-worker, he also maintained a machine/welding workshop out of his home garage, which produced many stainless-steel anchors and quahogging equipment that is seen around the marinas of RI.

Ron was the beloved father of Kellylee Mann and David Macomber. He was a loving grandfather to Kaylee, Ashley, and Riley Mann. He was the brother of Roland Macomber, Kathleen Gerundio, Diane Sims, and the late Randolph Macomber. He was also an uncle to many nephews and nieces.

His family would like to thank the East Greenwich Fire Dept. and the staff of South County Hospital for their care in his final days, as well as the Warwick Fire Dept. who will always be his "brothers".

In lieu of a funeral, a "Celebration of Life" will be held next summer, as per his wishes.
