Ronald Ralph McCullen, 76, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Grandy, NC. Born on November 25, 1948, Ronald, also known as Ronnie, was known for his caring and thoughtful nature, coupled with a remarkable sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.

Ronnie served valiantly in the Army's 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, a testament to his bravery and dedication to his country. After his military service, he joined his father and brother in the family business, where he applied his hardworking ethic in drywalling before venturing into owning a car shop with his father. His professional life was marked by a blend of craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit.

Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Ronnie was passionate about his hobbies, particularly detailing his cherished Corvette Stingray. He also enjoyed yard work and riding his Harley Davidson. His home was often filled with laughter and storytelling, especially about the mythical "Walnut Island monster," a tale that kept the neighborhood kids and young family members, entertained.

Ronnie's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his daughter, Lonna Bennett (Riker), along with their children Oliver and Ellouise; his son, Keith Ratliff (Michelle), and their son, Jackson. His sisters, Judy Shinn (Frank) and Brenda Chrisman (Danny), their children and grandchildren, aand grandchildren Zia, Zella, Zane, and Zoe. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Ralph McCullen, his daughter Renee Jackson, his son Wayne McCullen, and his brother Doug McCullen.

Ronnie's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and service, deeply enriching the lives of those who knew him. His legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
