I grew up the the McDonell family and Ron was always kind and thoughtful and always fun to be around, we played hockey outside every night in the Arials backyard rink and we all had great memories of that time.


R.I.P. Ron till we see eachother again

My condolences to the entire family. Ron has left us far too early but will never be forgotten.

Ron was a regular volunteer for a program I coordinated. It won't come as a surprise that Ron was exceptional in his role -- he put clients at ease with his calm and steady manner, he was steadfast in his commitment, and he was extremely kind to all who he encountered. He served our program for many years and will be very missed by staff and clients. Ottawa was a better community in many ways because of Ron's contributions. We are so sorry for your loss and we will be keeping you in our thoughts.

He will be missed by friends from long ago.

There are no words that can express how truly sorry I am for your loss. May he be remembered through friends and loved ones, and stories shared between us all. He was a great guy and will be missed, gone way too soon. Thoughts and Prayers are with you all.

So sorry to here of the the passing of Ron. I went to high school with him...My thoughts and prayers are with his family..R.I.P. Ron...

I will always have fond memories of Ronnie as a friend through highschool and more recently in meeting Leanne and Cameron,whom Wendy looks after in her daycare.
The memory that I will hold dearest is the last week of Rons life.
How incredible was the love and support from both families.
Their "vigil" at his bedside was heartwarming.
Leannes courage in the face of losing her husband and the father of their little girl,was one of the bravest things I have ever seen.
I take comfort in knowing that Leanne and Cameron will not be alone in moving forward and that happiness will find them again.

Having been privileged to know Ron from his teens, he was indeed a man of honour and integrity. When he achieved his dream of becoming a police officer, we were privileged to see him professionally, as he frequently assisted the hardest to serve into a place of safety for the night. The light of his life was his daughter Cameron,and he proudly showed pictures of her every chance he got. His hunting friends, his family, and his family with Ottawa Police Services will all miss him.
