Ronald Morrish Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 19, 2024.
Ronald Thomas Morrish, a resident of Antelope, California, passed away October 9, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born September 28, 1954, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Frank and Lois (Bundy) Morrish. In childhood, his family moved to Ventura, California, where he, his older and younger brothers, and younger sister grew up. Ron attended Buena High School, Ventura College, and San Diego State University. After marriage and the birth of his two children, he moved to the Sacramento area where he lived the rest of his life, raising his family and working as a property manager for many years.

Ron had an unconventional way of approaching the world. Throughout his 70 years, he never lost his sense of wonder and curiosity or his interest in other people and their happenings. He had a kind and self-deprecating manner that made him a friend to many adults, most children, every dog he met, and even the occasional cat.

Ron enjoyed swimming, followed every type of sport throughout the year, and delighted in visiting hole-in-the-wall restaurants. He read widely, was a devotee of AM radio, and cherished a long-held wish to see the celebrated jumping frogs of Calaveras County, a dream which was finally realized this year. Mostly, though, Ron loved his family. He kept a close bond with his siblings throughout his life, and no bridge was too far for him if he could help ensure the happiness of his children and their families.

Ron is survived by his dog Bacon, his daughter Jessica and son-in-law David; his grandchildren Diam, Kindra and Malcolm; his brother William and sister-in-law Joyce; his brother Robert and sister-in-law Kris; his sister Susan and brother-in-law John; and his nephews and niece Michael, Christopher, Matthew and Maria. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel.
