Leslie, I saw your post about Ron's passing on Reddit. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Ron, but my first job was at the GM plant in West Mifflin; I recognized the Shimko name as someone I worked with there. Both your Reddit post and the obituary your father wrote showed how much Ron was loved in life and will be missed in death. I hope that you and all of Ron's loved ones are able to eventually move on from your grief while keeping the joy he brought to your lives close to your heart.

I went to High School with Ron. We had a few classes together. I'm sure this is obvious but he was always smiling. Always. He loved punk rock. So did I. I'm sure he'll be excited to meet Joe Strummer up there. Condolences to his friends & family. xo

I came to know Ron only in this last year, but I always enjoyed his bright, positive presence in a room. Wonderful to talk to, helpful and gracious. Passionate about those things and people he loved. Blessings to his family and friends.

The first time I met Ron I knew he was a good man , we always had a big hug after that ! Loved him sharing his thoughts, wise beyond his years ! I was truly blessed to have known him .

Deeply sorry for your loss. My siblings and I went to James Lavelle with Ron. My father who led a hockey group at the school loved Ron. I can vividly remember just how bright a smile and joyful he was. I am praying for the Murphy family and again am so deeply sorry for your loss.
