Hi Donna

This is John Stone. I was the manager at Eugene Country Club when Ron was there. We used to play golf , had dinner together a few times and went on some golf trips. I am sorry for your loss. I had lost touch with Ron over the years since he moved to Coos bay and I moved to Spokane. He was a great man and I sure enjoyed the times I spent with him

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sincerely,

Ike Launstein

Donna and family -

Ron could never be just an acquaintance. We shared many years of friendship, beginning as co-workers at NW Natural Gas,then as Boss/employee, and as mentor and friend as he and I worked on the Coos Bay project. Knowing Ron was so very special and a friendship I will treasure and miss very much. Our last conversation on 2/6/09 will always be so special. We talked about all the highlights of our lives, our children, families, work, golf-he was always such a great player and I always hoped to be on his team when we played in best ball games......my heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to you, we have lost a wonderful person who has been so special in so many people's lives.

I never worked with Ron at NW Natural. My memories of Ron all revolved around NWN golf and NWN functions. He enjoyed both and I agree, he always had a smile. My husband and I will never forget the weekend we spent in Coos Bay playing golf and enjoying an evening with good friends. To Donna and the family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I didn't always agree with Ron, but I came to know he believed in what he was doing, and I found him to be a good man.

As I think back on the moments I spent with Ron, all I can remember is the love that just poured out of his words, his deeds, and his character. I remember asking him if there was anything he could do for a homeless high school girl in town, and he immediately got to work and didn't stop until he had found her a new place to live. He'd spend hours with me talking about life, even when he had so much else on his plate with the SCDC. What Ron leaves behind is an incredible friendship, and a resume of absolute unconditional love for every individual he met.

I'll miss you, Ron.

I remember first meeting Ron at Kaffe 101 in his Bandon Dunes outfit, he is the friendliest person you will ever meet and every once in a while I got to sit and chat with him for a bit. Great knowing him for a very short time.
