It was both an honor and a pleasure to work with Ron at the LA Times
during my decade there. He treated this news researcher and all his colleagues with kindness and respect.
I was always amazed at his ability to find exactly what he needed from
his numerous stacks of papers on his desk. What may have looked disorganized was a filing system
that worked for Ron. He was a top notch reporter and person.

Dear Alyce,
Ron was a great man and a great reporter. Always kind, appreciative and unruffled, it was always a pleasure to provide research for his stories.
I did not learn of the memorial service until after the fact. Otherwise I would have been there to share in the memories of our time together at the LA Times Wash. Bureau. I can still picture that boyish grin and his twinkling eyes.
Condolences to you and your family,
Aleta Embrey, former LA Times Wash Bureau Library Manager

Dear Alyce,
It was so very sad to read about Ron in the Post. I believe he had Parkinsons for a very long time, even ages ago when we were studying together. What an enormous loss for you, and to his professional community as well.
May you be safe and at ease.
My best wishes
Isabel

Alice dear, Sending deepest condolences as I picture Ron, Gerry and the rest of the now-gone media guys happily playing poker together at our dining room table over the years! With heartfelt sympathy, Halcy

Ron was a perfect gentleman and an all around great guy. Also a terrific credit to the journalistic profession and the LA Times. So sorry to learn of his passing. May his memory be a blessing.
