Quechee - Ronald J. Paprocki, age 78, passed away on February 22, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Cathy Paprocki; children Krista Coleton (Peter) of Arlington, VA, Ron Paprocki, Jr. (Maria Roemer) of New York, NY, and Karin Paprocki (Jon Howard) of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren Violet, Holly, Jason, Kai, and Miles; sister Patricia Deloria of Churchville, NY; and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Mary (Kurowski) Paprocki; sister Arlene Gianforte; and brother Gerald Paprocki. Ron was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from the Aquinas Institute in 1965. He attended the University of Rochester and graduated in 1969 with a degree in French Literature. Ron dedicated his career to the University for nearly 50 years, starting at the Office of the Registrar, then the College of Arts & Science, and retired in 2016 as Senior Vice President for Administration & Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Upon his retirement, Ron and Cathy moved to Quechee, VT, where he remained active on various Boards, including the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) and the Upper Valley Haven. He loved fly fishing with friends from Rochester and later with his son, Ron. He and Cathy enjoyed spending time outdoors in their garden, identifying wildlife, and sharing a good pun. Ron was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed. A funeral Mass and celebration of life will take place at the University of Rochester Interfaith Chapel at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
