Ron will be missed by the many friends he made in Australia. A man of great erudition, an amusing raconteur and an excellent amateur astronomer. Ron was a credit to his callings, his nation and his family. He was a gentleman in the true sense of the word.

Janet - You and the family are in our prayers. We have appreciated seeing and talking to both Ron and yourself since we became neighbors years ago.

Janet- You and your children are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself in the coming days and weeks, as I am sure you took wonderful care of Ron during these last seven months.

Ron will be missed at the Columbus Astronomical Society. He was a role model for amateur astronomers, young and old.

Mr. Ravneburg always purchased Boy Scout popcorn from me and told me stories about Boy Scouts. He encouraged me to get my eagle scout and told me how important it is. His family is in my prayers. Marcus Myers

I had the fortune to work with Ron for the last ten years. Ron provided guidance and in-depth support to the Mental Health Consumer Outcomes Initiative over many years and can be credited with much of its success. His wisdom will be missed, but his assistance leaves us who continue on better able to follow the path. Ron, I miss you!

Jan and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I first met Ron back in the late 1980's. Whether is was in California at Riverside Telescope Convention, Canada at Starfest, in the Florida Keys, or just sitting at some diner, Ron was always a wealth of great knowledge, stories, and friendship. He always had time and patience for people, never rushing anything. There is no question, I will always remember the good times we had, and all the help and guidance he gave me over the years.

God bless you and your family, Janet! I am certainly holding you up in prayer, and I know God will enfold you under His sheltering wing.

Ron will be remembered as someone who was always upbeat and truly a joy to be around. His immense knowledge of astronomy and other subjects never ceased to amaze me. I am deeply saddend to learn of his passing and know his legacy will live on far into the future among those in the Columbus Astronomical Society.

"and helping members of the public discover the wonders of the universe." A huge understatement. A person's enthusiam in any matter of interest can be nurtured or squandered by their first contact with other interested parties. By that I would have to call Ron a Great Nurturer

I worked with Ron at CMHC years ago and he was a great guy always with a big smile. Farewell Ron and my condolences to the family.

Ron had an incredible gift for forming instant friendships. The memories I have of chatting around telescopes waiting for the darkness to arrive will be treasured forever. Ron, as we continue to gather and ponder the heavens, we know you will be with us.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. As one of many professional friends I remember just how important Ron was to my professional carrer. I learned so much working with him over the years.

Ron was an ambassador of the Columbus astronomical and the literary community here in Ohio but people worldwide knew him as a friend fist. I am honored to have known Ron - to have wonderful memories with him and friends around a telescope, looking over a 18 century book, or sitting at a large dinner table having a delightful conversation. Most of all I am glad to know his family and know they are out in the world making it a better place.
