Ron Read of Calgary passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Dad was born at the Calgary General Hospital and attended Crescent Heights High School. He married our mom Margot Humphreys in 1950 and together they raised three sons and a daughter and were faithful members of St. Andrew's Anglican Church from its inception. Dad had a successful and rewarding forty-plus year career in finance in the oil and gas service sector. Dad was a man of few words, a man of patience and integrity and a man who loved his family. We will all miss him dearly. Although we are sad he has passed, we know that he is happy to be with our mom again after her passing twenty years ago. Dad is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerry (Donna) Read, Ken (Lynne) Read, and Lee (Susan) Read; daughter and son-in-law Kerry Read (Jeff Yee); seven grandchildren, Kristen (Brent) Edwards, David (Sue-Rose) Read, Meghan Read, Ryan (Vanessa) Read, Taryn (Gene) Watson, Adam (Amber) Faubert, and Erin Faubert; six great-grandchildren, Sofia Read, Henry Read, Landon Watson, Peyton Faubert, Callehn Faubert and Baby Boy Edwards due in June as well as numerous nieces and their families. He was predeceased by his loving wife of forty-six years Margot Read, brother Bill Read, sister Mary Tarves, sister-in-law Marie Winn, brother-in-law Al Winn and nephews Keith Black and infant Bobby Read. May Dad's soul rest in eternal peace with Christ. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church (1611 St. Andrew's Place N.W.), on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
