The family decided to move to Seattle in 1945. They moved initially to Seabeck WA. Eventually settling in Rainier Valley. Ron graduated from Franklin High in 1956. Ron started to play Ice Hockey as a youth, cleaned ice and was a 'rink rat' to pay for ice time. He continued playing in leagues into his mid-forties. Dear Carolyn; If I could say anything to Ron at this moment it would be thank you. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have worked along side of Ron would know what a great opportunity it was to learn from a master. His legacy will live on and on as his skills are passed on from one generation to the next. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and deepest regrets on your loss. He will truly be missed.

To Ron's family. I am very sorry to learn of Ron's passing. He and I were in the same class at Franklin and I also watched him play ice hockey while he was a teen-ager. That was a terrible hour to get up on a Sunday morning but those players were devoted!
He was a nice guy with a ready smile. He will be missed.
