RONALD SCOTT Obituary
Age 63, of Oakmont, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Dear son of the late Gordon and Janet (Riddell) Scott; beloved husband for 24 years of Wendy (Scherger) Scott; loving father of Evan and Ryan Scott; brother of Gordon (Janice) Scott, Bonnie (Dave) Dering who is Ron's twin sister, and Jim Scott; son-in-law of JoAnne Scherger and the late John H. Scherger; Ron is also survived by many other loving family members including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was a retired teacher from Penn Hills School district where he was also head of the teacher's union. After retirement, he was associated with Riverview High School. Ron was a former member of Oakmont Boro Council, the library board, and was a partner of Ron Scott Auto Body since 1982. Friends and relatives will be received during a memorial visitation on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Funeral Service Monday, August 24, 2015, 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Donations may be made in his name to C.O.R.E., 204 Sigma Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15238 for he was patiently waiting for a liver transplant, and in his death was able to give of his own organs so that others could live.

So sorry to hear the news of Ron's passing. I was a student of his from way back in 1981. He taught me so much in the way of autobody that I still use to this day, restoring my own 55 Ford pickup. I bumped into Ron a couple years ago at a auction of older restored cars in New Stanton.We talked and laughted about old times. i was looking forward to seeing him the Oakmont Fathers Day car show at Riverveiw Park just to see if he ever finished the Olds 442 he was working on at the time we last taiked. He will truely be missed!

I was unable to make it to the funeral home but my deepest sympathies to all of your family. Although we only spoke to each other a handful of times (we live on Eastern Ave) when I would walk our dog, he was just a pleasure to talk with. God Bless and I will miss waving to him when passing the shop.
