Dan and Candi Phillips

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Ron and Carol. I worked with Ron as an attorney in San Francisco. Ron was a great, fun loving guy with a lot of interests and a wonderful sense of humor. I loved our long coffee breaks with Errol, Ron, George and Walter. We could talk politics (back then), trips, people gossip, sports or whatever. I also loved our Friday "two martini" lunches at great SF restaurants. Good times. We would also from time to time socialize with our spouses Carol and Candi. Always a lot of fun!

Life was more fun when you were with Ron. There was much to him than that, but that's the thread that runs through all my memories with him. I was lucky to have him in my life.

My uncle Ron was a big part of my life. He led us on so many family adventures - skiing in Tahoe, water skiing on the Delta, camping in Big Sur, backpacking in Yosemite. He was definitely the "cool" uncle and as a kid I wanted to be a lawyer like him (and drive a Porsche ;). He was a natural risk taker, I am not, so he helped me push boundaries. He was an amazing story teller and the life of any party. Yet he was serious, smart, and practical about the business of life and doing the hard work that self-sufficiency and fun hobbies require. I remember being so proud telling him about my first real job. He and my aunt Carol were always so fun to be with - finding the humor and laughs in everything! And I loved seeing their romance through the years. I will miss Ron greatly, but he indelibly shaped who I am, so his presence will always be with me. (Photo: on the Delta, me with the camera)
