Stover, Ronald

Ronald Stover, 76, of Wausau, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 11, 2014 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born July 24, 1937, in Kokomo, Indiana, son of the late Robert and Charlotte Stover. On May 31, 1980, he married Arlene Stark in Tomahawk.

Prior to his retirement, Ron worked at Brokaw Paper Mill. Among his favorite things he enjoyed football, especially the Green Bay Packers. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, boating and sitting by the fire. He enjoyed wildlife, being outdoors and admiring God's creations and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene; daughter, Brenda (Bee) Vang, Eau Claire; son, William (Cindy) Stark IV, Janesville; grandchildren, William Stark V, Tyler, Ethan, Emily, Alyssa Vang, and one granddaughter on the way in September, Phillip F. Stover; siblings, Miriam Phillips, Madene Simpson, Geneva Hively, Georgia Ervin, Phyllis Vanderpool, Welby Simpson; two brothers-in-law, Howard (Kay) Knack and Paul Knack; three sisters-in-law, Edith (Rodney) Schwark, Judy (Harvey) Perschke and Harriet Breitzman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip R. Stover.

Ronald was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Wausau. He loved the Lord and his church family.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1101 Elm St., Wausau. Rev. Tim Vanden Langenberg will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Monday at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Sunday.

Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church, 1101 Elm St., Wausau, WI 54401

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ahuja, and all the nurses and staff at the Aspirus Cancer Center at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Ron's family-my thoughts are with you in he loss of Ron. I always remember his smile and his sense of humor. He was talkative when he brought his furry
friend into the Wausau Animal Hospital where I worked for 17 yrs. (a.m. receiptionist). It was always nice to see him and Snookie.
May your memories give you comfort.
