Ronnie Poplin Obituary
Mr. Ronnie Lee Poplin, age 66, of Elkin passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Poplin was born November 2, 1954 in Surry County to Grady and Doris Bauguess Poplin.
Mr. Poplin was member of Macedonia Baptist Church and owner/operator of Little Mountain Transport. He loved his family very much and they were very special to him. Mr. Poplin loved truck driving, Westerns, and playing golf.
Mr. Poplin was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Barbara Anderson Poplin of the home; sons, Richard Lee Poplin of Rockford, Donald Ray Lassiter, Jr. of Elkin, Ronald James Lassiter and wife LeAnn of Roaring River; daughters, Crystal Lassiter Blackburn and husband Mike of Roaring River, Alicia Hope Wagoner and husband Phillip of Ronda; brothers, Dallas Poplin and wife Gisela of State Road, Dennis Poplin and wife Linda of Yadkinville, Lloyd Poplin and wife Carol of Elkin, Charles Poplin of Elkin, Neil Poplin and wife Peggy of Elkin; grandchildren, Blaine Wagoner, Ledger Blackburn, Phoenix Blackburn, Rialey Holman, Ally Shaffer, Seddi Lassiter, Ava Poplin; and canine companion, Izzy.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Although I haven't seen much of Ronnie in later years, I have fond memories of him growing up. I used to see him and his brothers quite a bit at my grandmother's(Bernice Swaim) house. So sorry family for your loss. Praying for you all.

Ronnie and I were lifelong friends. I never saw him anywhere that we weren't friendly with each other. We went to school together, rode the bus, had classes together and then were friends after school ended. I know the family is grieving and heaven has gained another angel. Ronnie was a wonderful person and always a friend. Thank God for people like Ronnie Poplin who always speak and never show pretenses and are sweet natured and happy. The picture looks just like him. Always smiling, that was so like him. i would like to express my sympathies and condolences to the family. I have met Barbara, but I know Charles and Lloyd and I know you will miss your brother forever. I too will miss him and may God give all of you strength during your time of sorrow.
