Oh my. I’m learning about this far too late. I’m soooo sorry to hear about Rory passing .. Rory and I had a special friendship back in the late 70s. This included a beautiful and unforgettable trip to van island where we spent 10 days hiking the west coast trail . My heart ❤ is heavy to the whole family

Just heard about Rorys' passing. My deepest sympathies to his family. I remember wrestling in the grass with Rory on our way to F.W.Howay elementary. Saw him at the Howay reunion in 2011. Great guy.

I knew Rory as the pesky little brother of Pat,with whom I went to NWSS. Lots of fun times at the "Munro House" with Rod and Joan, and good memories!
Please accept my warmest condolences on this very sad occasion.

I am so sorry to hear of Rory's passing. How sad for all of you. Rory was a great friend through our high school years and spent lot's of time at our home in New Westminster with the Zanusso Family. He was a great friend to all of us including our Mom and Dad who considered him "family". He was my locker buddy for two years at NWSS, and we had many laughs! I know he will be missed so much, but hope that the laughter and special times you had with him, will help you through the difficult days.

I knew Rory from Vancouver Island University in the early '80s, and a few fun occasions after that. I'm sorry that no words can convey my feelings about him well enough. I can say he was truly a kind, generous, thoughtful, caring, happy and fun person but he was really all of those x 100. I'm so sorry for you Shaun, and the children and we can only take consolation in the thought of him being in a better place now.
All our love from my family.

We are holding your family in our thoughts and prayers. We also met through violin lessons and Kenn Faris (my husband) worked with Rory at BC Buildings. Kenn held Rory in high regard anf often mentioned that he was a breath of fresh air at work with his optimistic attitude. I would love to see you Shaun if you are ever in Victoria, our door is always open to you. We send much love to all of you. You are an amazing family, and I am sure his legacy will be leave you with many wonderful cherished memories. Much love to you all.

Rory played scrum half on a rugby team comprised of some remarkable young men at New Westminster Secondary that I was fortunate to coach. He lived his life as he played that 'gentleman's game: with great instinct, savvy, talent, energy and fun. He had a determined intelligence but was never arrogant. He thought things through, made his choices and stuck by them loyally.
His talented family had pride of place in his heart and their sorrow must run deep. Stay strong, his love for you will help.

Sorry to hear of his passing, my memories of Rory was that he was a real force, and very dynamic when it came to discussions about life while we were at Malaspina back in the 80's . Even though i hadn't talked to him in years. I have lots of fond memories of our time at school. My condolences to your family, he will be missed.

We were so sad to hear of Rory's passing. He was a wonderful guy. His family was everything to him and we admired him for that. I enjoyed working with him at BCBC, then later the fun, uplifting discussions at various violin lessons and concerts our kids were in. We wish Shaun and his children all the best. From Kenn, Angela, Sam and Emily.

I too went to Malaspina College with Carol and Rory. Rory was a true inspiration for me as he took me under his wing and offered me advice whenever I needed it and was always looking out for me, in school and life. His jest for life and his exuberant laugh will always be cherished. Me condolences go out to his family in this trying time.

So sad to hear about Rory's passing. He was (and is) a great man. Our kids played violin together and our families had many happy times together. Rory brought a lot of energy to whatever he was doing. He always had a welcoming smile on his face and you always felt better for talking with him. Often there would be an offer of red wine!
It was obvious that Rory loved his family, and his family loved him. As did his friends. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

I know Rory from Malaspina College and a two year program we did. Rory's passing is so sad and surprising-that guy had more energy than one could believe. My sincere condolences to Shaun and the children, Rory's Mom and sisters. He will not be forgotten and a star will shine more brightly now..somewhere.
