Rosa "Ofie" Camilli, 86, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 26, 2010. She is survived by her sons, Jerry and wife Shirley of Corrales, NM, Lou and wife Shelley of Albuquerque, NM, Sam and wife Sharon of Tomball, TX, Bill and wife MaryK of Tyler, TX, and Mo and wife Alisha of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren, Jerry's children: Lisa Mitchell (Bobby), David Camilli (Shelley), April Marker (Derek), Brandon Camilli, and Justin Camilli; Lou's children: Tobi Camilli and Chris Camilli; Sam's child: Tony Camilli (Holly); Bill's children: Bryan Camilli, Lou Camilli (Kelly), Billy Camilli and Mark Camilli; and Mo's children: Sam Camilli and Matt Camilli; two great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ofie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry; parents, Modesto and Maria Gomez; brother, Tito Gomez; sister, Gloria Salcedo; and special friend, George Terchila. Ofie was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who loved to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, working in her yard, making pottery, ballroom dancing and square-dancing. Ofie was a member of the Duke City Singles and Swingin' Singles dance group. We will all miss her wonderful smile, kind spirit and great sense of humor. Ofie was a loving and caring person, completely dedicated to her family, and put others' needs above her own. NOTE: LOCATION CHANGE - A Celebration of Ofie's life will be held in El Paso, TX on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Sunset West Funeral Home at 480 N. Resler Dr. A private interment will take place at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ofie's name to Modesto A. I am very thankful that I was granted the opportunity to have tender memories of your Mother, I will pray for all the Camilli's during this time of sorrow, I know all of you are strong in faith and that is, I am sure a direct reflection of your Mom's legacy. The Camilli memories are wonderful and vast. Becky and I often look at the old house across from Coldwell Elementary with such lasting memories, always leaving big smiles on our face. Your Mom's kindness and love for her family, and the way she was able to share of herself with others left such an everlasting impression with me as a child that remains with me even today.

My sincerest condolences to the Camilli boys and their families. Your mother left a deep impact on my life and I will always be grateful for the hospitality she showed us kids who frequently visited that home on Altura. I warmly remember her support of the Coldwell and Austin PTAs as well as all the sports events she and Mr. Camilli faithfully attended. The Camilli home was a constant whirlwind of activity with her sons coming and going to games, practices or going out with friends. She ran that home with love and patience and was so proud of her five sons and their accomplishments. To this day, I enjoy eating pork chops accompanied with applesauce, just the way she graciously served them to me some 45 years ago. Mrs. Camilli lovingly gave of herself to so many of us in that central El Paso neighborhood that it is difficult to think of growing up without her influence. Vaya Con Dios Mrs. Camilli. I will never forget you and the kindness you showed this kid many years ago.
