Oxnard - Rosa Angel Duran

September 6, 1929 - December 14, 2024

Rosa Angel Duran passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, in Oxnard, California, at the age of 95. Born on September 6, 1929, in Zacoalco de Torres, Jalisco, Mexico, Rosa immigrated to the United States with her family in 1944 at the age of 14. She became a proud resident of Oxnard, California, where she lived for 80 years and later celebrated becoming a U.S. citizen.

Rosa was preceded in death by her father Tomas Angel, mother Rafaela Angel, sister Angela Nilo, brother-in-law Juan P. Nilo, and daughter Delia Duran. She is survived by her devoted husband Delfino R. Duran; her children Miguel Duran (Veronica), Rafael Duran (Laura), and Rita Duran-Schultz (Robert J. Schultz); her grandchildren Cindy Harding, Chris Duran, Johnny Duran, Joshua Duran, and Megan Duran; step-grandchildren Laurita Perez, Janette Lopez, and Nancy Perez; and several great-grandchildren.

In her younger years, Rosa worked at Seaboard Packing House and Camarillo Citrus Packing House as well as other local packing houses in Oxnard and Camarillo. She also dedicated a decade of volunteer service to Our Lady of Guadalupe School, where she served hot lunches, assisted in the library, and participated in the Parents Club. Above all else, Rosa cherished her role as a homemaker and found immense joy in caring for her family.

Rosa enjoyed knitting, crocheting, collecting rocks during vacation trips, and visiting casinos-especially Las Vegas-but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her loved ones. Her warmth and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held on January 13-14, 2025. A viewing will take place on January 13 at Santa Clara Cemetery and Mortuary (2370 N. H Street, Oxnard) from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow on January 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (500 N. Juanita Avenue, Oxnard), with interment afterward at Santa Clara Cemetery and Mortuary.

May Rosa's memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
