ROQUE BLUFFS and PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Rosalee (Flaherty) Forester died suddenly Monday, April 29, 2013, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Centerville.

Rosalee was a Mainer and a true downeaster in every way. She was head strong, fiercely independent, obstinate and resolute in her beliefs. She was not afraid to speak her mind; however she was a true servant of God and was passionate about her faith. Rosalee had a successful career in real estate and devoted herself to it for many years. Prior to that she owned her own fabric store in Coral Springs, Fla., where she was able to share her love of sewing and creating. She was a wonderful painter, talented quilter, avid gardener and a great bowler. Her cooking skills were second to none. Rosalee was a visionary in all of her endeavors. Shopping was her favorite pass time, she couldn't let a good deal go by! In recent years she developed the love of travel. She recently returned from a transatlantic cruise where she visited Spain and Italy.

She is survived by her brother, John Robert Preston of Roque Bluffs; five children, Paula Eaton and husband, Walter, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Pam Smith and husband, Kim, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Tammi Brooks Aiello and husband, Dan, of Alpharetta, Ga., Troy Forester of Orlando, Fla., and Travis Forester and wife, Beata, of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; as well as her niece, Kristy Preston Ellsmore of Bangor. Rosalee was predeceased by her parents, John and Phyllis Preston, sister-in-law, Ora Berry Preston; and niece, Kelly Preston.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at McClure Funeral Home, corner of Charles and Drisko St., Machias. Burial will be after at Great Cove Cemetery, Roque Bluffs. Immediately after the burial, there will be a small reception at Roque Bluffs Community Chapel. Donations may be made to Great Cove Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 715, Machias, ME 04654.
