October 9, 1946 - October 26, 2015
We sadly announce the passing of a caring wife to Yurko, mother to Natalia (Andrew Walsh), sister to Ludmila (Douglas Girvan); sister-in-law to Luba, Mary, Dania; aunt to Larissa, Ollie, Melanie, Tanya, Burly, Christina, Stephanie; also grieving are many relatives in Ukraine. Rosie leaves behind a legacy of contributions to her beloved Ukraine and to her cause of uniting Ukrainian children with loving Canadian families. She practiced law with diligence and brought exceptional logic and justice to her work. Her camaraderie and sense of humour was cherished by all. Visitation at Yves Legare Funeral Home, 14370 Pierrefonds Blvd., today from 2-9 p.m.; Panachyda 8 p.m. Funeral, Saturday at St. Sophie Cathedral, 6255 blvd Saint-Michel at 11 a.m.

Yurko, my deepest condolences to you and your daughter Talia on your dear Rosie's passing. I remember her well, and always admired the way she threw herself into life and living. Dear George,

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear wife Rosalia. If it was not for you and your wife who introduced my husband to me at the Ukrainian Social Club on St. Lawrence St. after the demonstration in Ottawa that had taken place, who knows if I would be married to my husband today after 37 years. Our prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time in the loss of your dear wife.
