Rosario Massara Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 22 to Jan. 23, 2007.
MASSARA, Rosario 92 years, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, and dear nonno. Rosario passed away at home January 20, 2007, with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband to devoted wife Maria, whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage. Loving father of Anna (B.C.), Rosemary, Filomena and husband Renato (Italy), Susi and partner Andrew. Cherished nonno of Armando, Antonio, Max, Maria Teresa (Italy), and Enzo Matteo. Dear son of the late Giovanni and Rosa Maria Massara. Dear brother of Domenic (Australia). Predeceased by brothers Antonio, Salvadore, Michele, Giuseppe and sisters Carmela, Spasamina and Concetta. Also survived my many nieces and nephews in Italy, Australia and Canada. Rosario was a proud Italian WII veteran. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends and family on Via Italia, but most of all spending time with his girls and all his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and loved forever. As your expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Scalabrini Foun-dation. Visiting Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Janisse Bros - Marcotte Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Avenue (519-253-5225). Funeral service Wednesday, January 24, 2007, leaving the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. to St. Angela Merici Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Entombment Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Anna Massara

January 22, 2007

This is from Rosario's brother Domenico and his family in Australia.
My dad is saddened for the loss and and is now the last living child of the Massara's from Rosarno, Calabria, Italy.
Even though I only met my uncle Rosario a couple of times many years ago in Sicily, I wish we could have lived much closer and I also wish we could have visited him and his family in Canada.
He will forever be in our hearts, prayers and thoughts, as will also be our aunt Maria, Anna, Rosa, Phyllis and Susie.
We hope we can get together again some time soon.
We love and miss you,
Domenico, Giovanna, Rosa, Anna and Alessia
