Rose Mary Kostrzewski Mader, 82, of Milton, died Friday at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

She was born in Shenandoah, April 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helena Lorah Kostrzewski.

Rose Mary was married to the late Joseph M. Mader, May 12, 1951, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage together until his death on Dec. 26, 1997.

She was a member of Trinity United church of Christ, Shenandoah, where she taught Sunday school and St. John's United Church of Christ, New Columbia where she was involved in fundraising. She was a member of ILGWU.

Rose Mary was very active in the Republican party in Schuylkill County.

She enjoyed roller-skating, bingo, quilting, needlework, word games, Wii games and spending time with her dog, "Flash."

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Ann and Edward A. Sowul, Milton; two grandchildren, Kendra R. Miller, Missouri and Kalen E. Sowul, Milton; one brother, Charles Kostrzewski, Mahanoy City; one sister, Helene Vernosky, Ashland; and one sister-in-law, Janice Kostrewski, Sarasota, Fla.

A public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, PA 17847, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Seagle officiating. The graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Ukrainian Cemetery, 114 Chestnut St., Shenandoah, PA 17976.
