Rose Pantley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 31, 2003.
Rose Anne PANTLEY Rose A. Pantley of Alderwood Manor and most recently Everett passed away at her home Saturday, December 27, 2003. She was born on June 30, 1905, in Seattle, WA. She resided in the family home on 14th Ave. West, until she met and married Frank Pantley on April 18, 1923. Frank owned and operated Pantley's Auto Rebuild in Seattle. They stayed in Seattle until 1936, at that time she and her family moved to a chicken farm in Alderwood Manor. She took care of the farm raising chickens, turkeys, a few cows and pigs along with a very large garden. All the while she canned enormous quantities of fruits and vegetables that were grown on the family farm. Being in the Alderwood Garden Club was one of her joys at that time. Rose received many Blue Ribbons for her wonderful roses and dahlias. She will be remembered by her family for her cup of tea, white apron, frosted sugar cookies, fried chicken, apple pie and a warm comfortable lap to sit on. She had a warm heart and never faltered when life got tough. She will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Frances Pantley of Lynnwood, Jim Pantley his wife Marilyn of Alderwood Manor, Margaret Black her husband Lloyd of Mukilteo and Joe Pantley and his wife Karen of Bothell, six grand children and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave S. Edmonds WA. Friday, January 2, 2004, 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline. In lieu of flowers, Rose requested memorial contribution to: The ARC (Advocates for the Rights of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities) of Snohomish County, 1513 23rd Street, Everett, WA 98201.

I cared for Rose in the home of Kim Jensen for about 4 years. I always brought my children, and Rose liked to share her cookies with them. I admired Rose and enjoyed her sense of humor, I never realized how many interests we shared. My last recollection was at Rose's new home "The Rose Cottage" and look forward to seeing her again at her eternal home with Christ. The Dana Family will surely miss Miss Rose.
