Rose Samer Obituary
Rose M. Samer, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed in the loving arms of her family at the home of her son, Frank, on August 24, 2010. Rose was the wife of the late Frank S. Samer Sr. who died on July 18, 1985. Born in Allentown, Rose was a daughter of the late Julius and Julia (Jost) Miller. She was a seamstress for the Former Palumbo Mfgr., and the former Silver Star Womens Clothing in Allentown for 35 years prior to retiring in 1985. Rose was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown. She was a past Financial Secretary of the Altar and Rosary Society at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Allentown, and was currently a member of the Golden Agers at Our Lady Help of Christians. Survivors: Surviving is her son, Frank S. Jr., and his wife, Claudia, of Macungie; grandchildren, Anthony, and his wife, Rachel, of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer McCardle, of Macungie, and Claudine, wife of Hugh Stubblefield, of Winchester, VA; great grandchildren, Ian, Sebastian, Aidan, Alex, and Nathan. Rose was predeceased by her son, William R., in 2008; siblings, Edward, Joe, Jake, and Erna Weber; and great-granddaughter Rose Lee. Services: A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown. Calling hours will be on Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in the ODonnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Interment will follow the Mass in Resurrection Cemetery Wescosville. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166 S. 12th St., Allentown, PA, 18103.

Our thoughts of peace and love go to the Samer family at this time of loss. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Rose but had the pleasure of seeing the great love you all feel for her. It is a blessing to have someone like that in your life. Thank you Rose for giving your wonderful family to us. They are lovely and amazing. With our deepest sympathy, we are thinking of you. We were saddened to read of Rose's passing. I will never forget the many holidays and special occasions she spent with our family. She was a wonderful Mother-In-Law to my Sister and a special part of our lives. Her sewing talents will never be forgotten. I will remember her everytime I look at the beautiful quilt she made me. Her struggle is over, may she rest in peace with Bill and Frank

I am very sad to hear the news. I am Kay Boandl's adopted granddaughter. Rose became both my seamstress and friend over the past 6 years. She did wonderful work. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed me into her home. We will surely miss her.
