Fort Kent---Bertha St. Jean died in her sleep on January 24, 2020. She was born on March 23, 1929 to the late Omer and Henedine (Ouellette) Pelletier in Waterbury, CT. She lived in St. Rock des Aulnaies, P.Q., Canada in her childhood before moving to Willimantic, CT, then to Glastonbury, CT., and Fort Kent, Maine. She enjoyed snowmobiling, dancing, knitting, puzzles, and country music. She loved watching and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church in Fort Kent, and a member of the Senior Citizen Center, Columbiettes, Ladies of Ste. Anne and Cursillo. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland St. Jean in 1990, her daughter Rolande (St. Jean) Dube in 1999, her son Roger St. Jean in 2018, her sister Therese Rita Pelletier in 1926, her sister Simonne (Pelletier) Beaulieu in 2011, and her brother Alfred Pelletier in 2009. She leaves behind 5 children, Michelle (St. Jean) Beaulieu and her husband Daniel of Fort Kent, Maine, Rodney St. Jean and his wife Rebecca of Windsor, Maine, Rena (St. Jean) Tetlow and her husband Douglas of Manchester, CT, Diane (St. Jean) Belling and her husband David of Coventry, CT, and Ralph St. Jean and his wife Leslie of Glastonbury, CT. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, Brendan Beaulieu, Bailey Beaulieu, Evan St. Jean, Darrell St. Jean, Joe St. Jean, Cecile St. Jean, Jacob St. Jean, Jennifer (Hoffman) Higgins, Rob Hoffman, Sarah Hoffman, Dawn (Belling) Vieira, Teresa Belling, Christopher St. Jean, Candice (St. Jean) Knee, Jennifer (St. Jean) Waterman, Danielle St. Jean, Jason St. Jean, Bonnie (Dube) McGuire, and Donna (Dube) Mortimer. She also leaves 19 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent.
