Mayfield, Rosemary Norris,

73, passed away, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.

She was born July 4, 1941 in Edgerton, Kansas the daughter of Eugene and Marie Powers Norris.

She was a two time breast cancer survivor and was a volunteer for a breast cancer support group, she was a childcare provider for over thirty years in her home and after retirement she filled her time as a motivator with Inch By Inch. She was a member of the Over 60 Club and of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest W. Mayfield of Georgetown, Indiana; son, Edward Mayfield (Kari) of Kenosha, Wisconsin; two daughters, Michelle Elsby (Richard) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Angela Rodewig (Robert) of Borden, Indiana; brother, John Norris (Dale) of Euless, Texas; sister, JoAnn Patterson (Chuck) of Manhatton, Kansas; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Kevin and Shaun Mayfield, Kaylyn and Brooke Rodewig, Robert R. Rodewig, Jr. and Jenna and Josie Elsby.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, Indiana.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Relay For Life of Floyd County.

I will never forget Rosie.. She took care of my 2 kids while I was suffering from a brain tumor. She was the best.

We will miss you Rosie. You were such a fun, loving person that I had the honor of calling my friend. I will miss seeing you at the Inch in the evenings. My prayers go out to your family.

Bob and I were very sorry to hear that Aunt Rosie died yesterday morning. I have good memories of when I was young and her influence in my life. We wish you our very best during what is always a painful time in ones life.
