Rosemary Procopio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 26, 2023.
Rosemary "Rose" Procopio, 85, of Carlsbad, CA, took flight from this world on November 22, 2023, leaving behind a trail of memories as vibrant as her spirit. Born on April 21, 1938, in Los Angeles, CA, Rosie was the life of the party, and she knew how to make every moment count. After 85 years of exceptional health, Rose was blindsided by a cancer diagnosis that she faced with courage and dignity right to the end.

Rosie graduated from Bellflower High School in 1956. After high school Rose married Roger Crabb and moved to Arkansas where Rog served in the Air Force and Rose perfected her recipe for biscuits and gravy. Rosie left Arkansas for California in September of 1960 determined to have her first child born in California. She nailed it!

Rose was a proud lifetime AutoClub employee. Rosie's journey at "The Club" was nothing short of legendary. From starting at the counter planning trip tics and reading maps upside down, to conquering claims subrogation, she climbed the ladder like a pro. If you needed advice on handling your claim, Rosie was your go-to gal. And if you didn't, well, she had some epic tales of claims conquered. Retirement from the AutoClub couldn't keep her away from her lifetime friends, as she stayed in touch with them for over two decades, even speaking with some the week before she left us.

When Rosie wasn't busy gardening and traveling, she cherished her role as a loving mother to her daughter, Bonnie Jo Crabb-Henry, told anyone who would listen how incredible her son-in-law, Dave Henry is and found happiness in the company of her sweetheart, Richard Robinson.

Rose loved to talk to anyone about anything. She actually nicknamed herself, "the mouth". Some of her favorite topics were traveling in her rig, staying at the Kiahuna Plantation in Kauai, beach camping and of course her "perfect" children.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Leon Crabb, her husband, Vincent Procopio, and her parents, Joseph G. and Lou Finnegan.

While Rosie's services are yet to be planned, her family encourages everyone to celebrate life everyday with the same gusto that she did. Keep Rosie in mind and mark your calendars for her birthday in April.

In memory of Rosie, the family kindly requests contributions to the Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. CA. If you knew Rose, you knew Andy. And you know she loved that little rescue pup.

Rest assured, she's in heaven throwing a party, looking up old friends and, spreading joy. Cheers to you, Rosie! You'll be missed, but never forgotten.

Cheers from Rose until she sees you again!
