Rosie Lee Wilson was born April 30,1928, in Hayneville, Alabama to the union of Fred and Marie Gordon.
Rosie was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the April Circle.
Rosie loved making her famous pound cakes and was known for her bourbon cakes, which she loved sharing with family and friends.
Rosie had a special love for the little ones whom she fondly called her “ugly ducklings.”
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Marie Gordon and her husband, Willie D. Wilson (on November 29, 1999) of fifty years.
Rosie leaves to cherish her memory daughters: Quentella Horn (Edgar) of Pleasant Grove, AL and Jo Ann (Kevin) Gresham of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Michelle (Lanier) Horn Brown of Homewood, AL; grandsons: Maurice Dante’ (Callie) Mitchell of Denver, CO. and Raphael Raymond (Tiffany) Mitchell III of Chicago, IL; great granddaughters: Olivia Marie Brown and Grace Lanier Brown of Homewood, AL, Sofia Rose Mitchell and Vivienne Marie Mitchell of Denver, CO and Rachael Rae Mitchell and Raphael Raymond IV of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
